How It's Made - Natural Lip Balm with Shea Butter

Posted by Jarin James on

Want to know how our Natural Lip Balms with Shea Butter are made?  Learn why we choose specific oils and how we make our lip balm to soothe and heal dry, cracked lips.

Several varieties of lip balm

Our lip balm creation came about, like so many things, out of necessity. We wanted a lip balm to help end the suffering of those with dry, cracked, and bleeding lips. Our natural lip balm is an alternative to the paraffin and petroleum packed tubes found so often in the marketplace.

The Ingredients

Each ingredient in our lip balm was hand-selected for its contribution to healthy lips and skin.

Shea butter - full of nutrients and vitamins, it is an excellent moisturizer for dry skin and helps to protect the oils naturally found on the skin

Olive Oil - best known for its ability to soften skin, it is also full of antioxidants that fight against environmental skin damage

Beeswax - the base of the lip balm, it helps to create a barrier between your lips and the environment, preventing your lips from losing moisture and can offer a little natural SPF protection

Lanolin - a natural emollient that prevents moisture from evaporating and helps dry, cracked skin heal

Castor Oil - promotes hydration and stimulates tissue growth to help heal skin; it also prevents the buildup of dead skin cells around broken skin

The Process

We simply measure the ingredients and melt them together, then pour into lip balm containers and allow to cool.
